Maurice Reid, LEED AP BD+C, RA
Co‑Studio Director, Senior Associate
Maurice is a Co-Studio Director based in Gensler’s Portland office, who leads the office’s Building Transformation & Adaptive Reuse practice. With a multi-disciplinary background that includes both architecture and graphic design, he is an invaluable team member who offers versatility and a unique perspective. Maurice attributes his heightened conceptual thinking to his experience as a graphic designer, including his work on signage and wayfinding programs for clients spanning aviation, law firms, government, hospitality, and cultural institutions. Coupled with his broad experience in interiors and architecture projects across a variety of industries, Maurice’s notable projects include NCMEC, Goodwill of Greater Washington, Conservation International, and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
He is one of the rare individuals who can bridge the conceptual and technical elements of architecture, and brings his passion and unbridled imagination to each project. Maurice leverages his creativity with his ability to manage the complex, real-world challenges of building design, such as construction administration, which he sees as one of the most rewarding aspects of his job.
